Leon’s Brainchild: a complete makeover of his bathroom
Leon and his husband live a happy life in their very nice apartment in Amsterdam-Oost, but are always on the look for improving and developing it. They bathroom was definitely good enough, but they were having the feeling that it could just be better. We came in contact through our common network of alumni – we indeed studied in the same university, the renown Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University).
It wasn’t only about the look and feel of it. They wanted to move the shower and the WC around, replace the mirror, improve the sink. And when it’s about your bathroom, you surely also want to have a good look at your pipes. Especially in these old Dutch houses. Hey Leon, thanks again for taking the time — and for trusting us with your bathroom makeover! First question first, could you please re-state what did we do for you?Leon:
You helped us with establishing the new bathroom’s facilities. The installation of the new cupboard, of the new shower, from the design to the real construction of the bathroom, also by looking for the right materials.Filippo:
Great! And talking about the very start of the project, when was the moment when you and your husband thought that you were going to trust us?
Leon:
Actually from the very first time that we spoke to George. The fact that he speaks Dutch is important, because using the same language is a great way to avoid misconceptions and miscommunication (together with all the advantages of manual labor). The preparation was also positive, with a sound process that seemed reliable and trustworthy from day one.Filippo:
Ah-ha, this is interesting to hear, and actually also a little surprising. But good to know that linguistic skills can also have a role hear, also because we’re a truly multi-lingual team. Next question, was there a specific ‘wow’ moment, and if so when did it occur?Leon:
(laughing) We’re still very happy with you. I think there was a long ‘wow’ moment, when the shower was ready and looked so good. A good outcome is always a classy ‘’wow’ moment. I should also add when the cupboards were ready, then we were like ‘time to celebrate’!.Filippo:
Another great answer, all very appreciated. What is that you particularly liked on the way we handled the whole thing? Is there something specifically that stands out?Leon:
The best part was that you brought the tiles! Then we didn’t have to buy them, and everything was already up and ready. There were many things that we liked. We actually never doubted anything, everything was clear from day one, and we had a very good feeling that everything would work.Filippo:
Let’s imagine a friend of yours is thinking about a renovation — what would you tell them about your experience with Aannemer MACS?Leon:
Well, we’ve been sharing your phone number already for a few times. We did that with Vikram and also with other ones. So, the answer is definitely positive.Filippo:
Last one — what’s next on your renovation wish list?Leon:
We’re thinking about replacing the kitchen, because the one we have now is good but definitely not new. And there might be something coming from the Owners’ Council (VVE in Dutch).
